The Dutch Cultural Media Fund (Mediafonds)

The Dutch Cultural Media Fund (Mediafonds) encourages and supports the making of high-quality cultural media products through radio, television and Internet broadcasts by national and regional public media organisations. The fund provides production grants and facilitates the development of promising programme concepts. As well as assessing the funding requests it receives, the Dutch Cultural Media Fund develops talent and boosts quality through various events and activities such as assessments, workshops, debates, conferences and masterclasses.

Fonds Podiumkunsten

The Performing Arts Fund (Fonds Podiumkunsten) operates on behalf of central government to support all forms of professional performing arts – including dance. As well as its longer-term Activity Grants, the fund provides one-off and two-year programming and production grants and individual subsidies for composers and performers. The fund focuses particularly on internationalisation, cultural diversity, performing companies and performance venues, and audience appeal.

NTR

Public service broadcaster NTR is the single most important Dutch broadcaster when it comes to providing a platform for dance, music and opera. NTR frequently produces and broadcasts Dutch dance films.

Cinedans – Dance on Screen

Cinedans – Dance on Screen is an annual international dance film festival lasting four days. It is devoted primarily to choreographies created specifically for the camera and to outstanding film adaptations of existing dance work. It also screens documentaries about important dance artists and presents dance-related installations. Outside the four-day period of the festival in Amsterdam, Cinedans on Tour presents specially compiled dance film programmes at festivals and other cultural events around the world.
